At times the world around us can feel chaotic and uncertain. It can be hard to know what to do to be productive and helpful. This month I am asking you to consider two opportunities:
First: I invite you to consider is participation in the National Museum Survey conducted by the Institution of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Participants will be able to access the data this summer and can see what trends and narratives are happening around the country. We’d like as many Utah museums to participate as possible so our data can be specific, relevant, and helpful. To participate you must be open to the public for at least 90 days a year. Survey responses are due March 7, 2025. Check your email to see if you received an email about the survey from IMLS or request an invitation for your museum to participate.
Second: I invite you to voice your support for the funding from the Black License Black to stay with the Utah Historical Society (see details here) &/or POPS/iSEE funding requests (see details here).
