Interested in oral history? This workshop is a great place to begin!
Join us in Hyrum on Thursday, February 18th from 9:00 am to noon for a free half-day workshop.
Oral History is a powerful tool to understand your family stories and community history. This focused introduction to the art and craft of oral history will cover its philosophical underpinnings, as well as the nuts and bolts of executing a successful oral history project. Participants will learn how to prepare for, conduct, and transcribe interviews, as well as find out more about funding sources for oral history projects. Oral History workshops are presented jointly by Utah Humanities and the Utah Division of State History.
This half-day workshop is free but registration is requested. RSVP by contacting Jami J. Van Huss at museum@hyrumcity.com or 435.245.0208.
