Join Utah Cultural Alliance Executive Director Crystal Young-Otterstrom for a 60-minute interactive workshop. Content shared will be relevant whether you are new to advocacy work or have years of experience. We will begin with an update on the 2021 legislative session bills and appropriations relevant to the cultural industry, followed by a quick advocacy essentials primer, and then spend the remainder of the time in small groups helping each other craft a year-round advocacy plan for the next 12 months. While bills are passed and appropriations are decided during the 45-day session, the bulk of advocacy work happens during the rest of the year so it is imperative to have a plan laid out for your organization.
