From the desk of Katy Knight | UMA Board President [2025-2026]

This year's Utah Museum Month is well underway and we have already had multiple requests for stickers from folks who have visited 5 or more museum! Be sure you are following UMA on social media (Facebook and Instagram) to learn about various participating museums. This is the third year we are sponsoring this program and we hope it is bringing more awareness and visitors to our wonderful Utah museums. Last week, Riley Lewis, from the BYU Museum of Art and a member of the museum month committee, was a guest on FOX13 to promote this fun summer program. Check out the interview here.

We hope many of you are planning to come to our annual conference this September in Kanab to learn from your colleagues and our keynote speaker, Elizabeth Merritt, Vice President for Strategic Foresight and Founding Director of the Center for the Future of Museums at American Alliance of Museums. NOW is the time to sign up as early bird registration ends TODAY (July 15)! Kanab will be a wonderful place to be in the fall and I look forward to interacting with many of you either in a program session, during a meal, or on the pickleball court!
