Virtual Conversation Tables

The Utah Museums Association and Utah Division of Arts & Museums are facilitating online conversations monthly on the 1st and 3rd Friday to keep you connected and share ideas about timely topics relevant to the museum community.

Each conversation will have a topic to keep us focused. If you have suggestions for topics or would be willing to lead a topic please let us know by filling out this form.

After each virtual table conversation we will pull together resources shared with the group and add them here.

Working Deeply During Closure

For some of us, museum closures have meant an opportunity to focus deeply on projects that we may not have had an opportunity to tackle under other circumstances. Today we will be discussing how "deep work" has been taking place during the pandemic, and how we have been able to use this time to work on long-term or intensive projects made possible by closure.

Pressing on in the Pandemic: Lessons Learned

Whether your museum is closed, has reopened, or never closed at all, we've all faced new challenges and pivoted our roles and objectives to some extent in the last six months. Join this conversation with your colleagues to learn about experiences, triumphs, and maybe even a disaster or two, as we all respond to new and nuanced issues. We are hopeful that sharing our experiences, ideas, and resources will ultimately help us all continue to better serve our communities.
