Museum Day on the Hill will be Tuesday, February 28 from 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the Capitol Rotunda. This year is very important to you and your museum because of redistricting and the number of new legislators in this session. As of this writing, there are three new Representatives in the House and one in the Senate, according to the Utah State Legislature website.

I must confess something. Fall is my favorite time of year. I enjoy the cooler temperatures, the UMA conference, and my birthday. 2011 Legislative Update

The past legislative session was an interesting one as it always is. Two items of note before we cover the details: Senator Chris Buttars (R-West Jordan) resigned at the close of the session March 11 and Senator Dennis Stowell (R-District 28) passed away Sunday, April 17 after a battle with cancer. Replacements for both offices have not been finalized as of this writing....

I heard some bad news recently. A monument to my youth will soon be no longer. I grew up in Riverdale, within walking distance to one of the most glorious movie theaters I ever sat in, The Cinedome 70.
I still remember walking up the darkened winding ramps into one of the gigantic domes. The massive screen towered over the plush seats and as I waited for the film to start my eyes would wander...
